Volcanoes - Mountain-bulding in real-time
Imagine looking out your window one morning to discover smoke and ash rising out of your back yard. Then, within the year, your neighbourhood is covered by a rising volcano. Years later, the volcano has risen hundreds of metres and annihililated whole communities. This is what happened in Mexico in the 1940s and can happen anywhere volcanoes are prevalent.

Imgine a volcano 10 to 100 times the size fo the volcanoes we see today. That's a supervolcano and one of them is right under Yellowstone National Park in the United States.
